...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN CATAWBA...WESTERN
ALEXANDER...EASTERN CALDWELL AND EAST CENTRAL BURKE COUNTIES THROUGH
830 PM EDT...

At 745 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles northeast of Lenoir, or 4 miles east of Cedar Rock, moving
south at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Hickory, Lenoir, St. Stephens, Conover, Longview, Sawmills, Granite
Falls, Valdese, Bethlehem, and Hudson.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
