...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN MCDOWELL...SOUTH
CENTRAL AVERY AND NORTHWESTERN BURKE COUNTIES THROUGH 245 PM EDT...
At 211 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles east of Spruce Pine, or near Linville Falls. This storm was
nearly stationary.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Linville Falls, B.R. Parkway-Linville Falls To Grandfather, Ingalls,
Ashford, and Jonas Ridge.
