NORTHWESTERN IREDELL...SOUTHEASTERN CALDWELL AND SOUTHEASTERN BURKE
COUNTIES THROUGH 515 PM EST...

At 444 PM EST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Hickory, or near Lake Hickory, moving northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Hickory, Taylorsville, Morganton, Statesville, Newton, St. Stephens,
Conover, Longview, Sawmills, and Granite Falls.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
