...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO
7 AM EST TUESDAY ABOVE 3500 FEET...

* WHAT...Heavy mixed snow expected above 3500 feet. Total snow
  accumulations up to 2 inches in the valleys, with 4 to 10 inches
  above 3500 feet. Over one foot of snow is expected above 5000 feet
  in the Smokies. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

* WHERE...The high elevations of Swain County.

* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 7 AM EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will lead to blowing snow, reduced
  visibility, and possible power outages. The heavy snow will make
  many roads impassable and may produce power outages due to the
  weight of the snow on tree limbs and power lines. Gusty winds
  could bring down tree branches.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wind chill values in the single digits are
  expected above 4000 feet late tonight through tomorrow night, with
  below zero wind chills expected above 5500 feet.

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches,
  with locally higher amounts in the highest elevations. Winds
  gusting as high as 45 mph.

* WHERE...Avery County.

* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 7 AM EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Snow accumulations will make some roads treacherous and
  impassable. The weight of the snow on tree limbs and power lines
  could produce isolated outages. The hazardous conditions could
  impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could
  bring down tree branches.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wind chill values in the single digits are
  expected above 4000 feet late tonight through tomorrow night, with

  Yancey Counties.
