...TROPICAL STORM 22W LIKELY TO BRING HEAVY RAIN...

TROPICAL STORM 22W IS FORECAST TO GRADUALLY STRENGTHEN WHILE MOVING
WEST-NORTHWESTWARD TOWARD THE MARIANA ISLANDS. THE LATEST FORECAST
TRACK BRINGS IT VERY CLOSE TO TINIAN AND SAIPAN AS A TYPHOON LATE
MONDAY NIGHT AND EARLY TUESDAY MORNING.

THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR 22W TO BRING HEAVY RAIN TO THE MARIANAS...
ESPECIALLY FOR TINIAN AND SAIPAN MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY. MODEL
RAINFALL ESTIMATES INDICATE 3 TO 5 INCHES OF RAIN IS POSSIBLE ACROSS
TINIAN AND SAIPAN...AND 1 TO 3 INCHES ACROSS ROTA AND GUAM.
UNCERTAINTY STILL EXISTS ON THE ACTUAL TRACK AND ANY SOUTHWARD
DEVIATION WILL BRING HIGHER RAINFALL AMOUNTS TO ROTA AND GUAM.

EXCESSIVE RAINFALL CAN CAUSE LOCALIZED FLOODING IN LOW-LYING AND
POOR DRAINAGE AREAS...AND RAPIDLY RISING STREAMS AND RIVERS.
CHECK STORM DRAINS IN YOUR AREA TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT CLOGGED.
MAKE PLANS TO PROTECT PROPERTIES IF YOU LIVE NEAR STREAMS AND RIVERS.
