Surf Zone Forecast for the Mariana Islands
National Weather Service Tiyan GU
441 AM ChST Fri Nov 7 2025

.DISCUSSION...There will be a high risk for rip currents along
east and south facing reefs through Saturday afternoon and a moderate
risk for rip currents along north and west facing reefs through at
least Saturday. As Tropical Storm Fung-wong (32W) moves west-
northwest away from the Marianas, rip current risk and surf could
become high along west facing reefs this weekend. A high risk for
rip currents may be maintained along east facing reefs as a
trade-wind swell reinforces the southeast swell through the weekend.

* Low Risk of rip currents - Strong currents can still occur near
jetties and reef channels. Always have a flotation device with you
in the water.

Moderate Risk of rip currents - Wave conditions support stronger or
more frequent rip currents. Always have a flotation device with you
in the water.

High Risk of rip currents - Large waves will produce strong rip
currents, especially along narrow reefs and beaches. Rip currents
will be life threatening. If caught in a rip current, swim parallel
to the beach rather than against the current.
