.DISCUSSION...
Moderate south to southwest winds will prevail across Honolulu this
weekend ahead of an approaching cold front that is expected to stall
to the west. Isolated showers will be possible through the day on
Saturday, then rain chances will ramp up for Honolulu heading into
Sunday as moisture embedded in the south to southwesterly flow is
drawn up into the area. Some forecast uncertainty remains in regards
to where the greatest amount of moisture and therefore showers will
set up, but confidence is increasing that Honolulu will see scattered
showers on Sunday, some of which could be heavy. Currently we are not
expecting thunderstorms to develop, but with the increasing instability
ahead of front, we will continue to reassess the lightning potential as
the event nears.
