.DISCUSSION...
Little change in the forecast for Hurricane Nolo since the previous
forecast. It is still forecast to pass south of Midway and Kure Atolls
on Sunday and Monday, during which time NE to E winds are expected to
increase to around 30 kts with higher gusts up to around 50 kts possible.
Moderate to heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms around the periphery
of Nolo will also be possible during this time. Until then, moderate
trades with scattered showers can be expected. Swell will be dominated
by medium to long period energy emanating from Hurricane Nolo reaching
the forecast points as early as today. The swell forecast carries
greater uncertainty than usual due to additional complexity related
to Nolo`s track, intensity, and increasingly close proximity to
Kure and Midway with time.
