Offshore Waters Forecast for Hawaii

Hawaiian offshore waters beyond 40 nautical miles out to 240
nautical miles including the portion of the Papahanaumokuakea
Marine National Monument east of French Frigate Shoals

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height
of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than
twice the significant wave height.

.Synopsis for the Hawaiian offshore waters...
A high pressure ridge N of the Hawaiian Islands weaken as a front
approaches the state from the NW. The front will enter the NW
offshore waters Tuesday, with near gale-force winds behind the
front. A trough may develop over the far SE waters Tuesday. A new
high pressure will build N of the area midweek. Isolated
thunderstorms are possible through much of the forecast period.

.THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH TONIGHT...NW half, E to SE winds 10 to
15kt. SE half, E winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 6 to 7 ft. Isolated
thunderstorms far SE Waters.
.TUESDAY AND TUESDAY NIGHT...Front entering and dissipating over
NW waters. NW half, NE winds 10 knots or less becoming, N to NE
winds 15 to 30 kt. Seas 6 to 7 ft, building to 9 ft. Isolated
thunderstorms.
.WEDNESDAY...E winds 25 to 30 kt. Seas 7 to 11 ft. Isolated
thunderstorms.
.THURSDAY AND FRIDAY...E winds 15 to 25 kt. Seas 9 to 11 ft.
