Offshore Waters Forecast for Hawaii

Hawaiian offshore waters beyond 40 nautical miles out to 240
nautical miles including the portion of the Papahanaumokuakea
Marine National Monument east of French Frigate Shoals

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height
of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than
twice the significant wave height.

.Synopsis for the Hawaiian offshore waters...
The ridge to the north will weaken as a front passes by to the
north on Wednesday. A cold front will move down the island chain
Thursday night and Friday. An upper level trough passing through
at the same time may increase the potential for thunderstorms and
numerous showers over the N waters Thursday through Friday.

.WEDNESDAY AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT...Front entering far NW waters.
NW half, winds variable up to 10 kt. SE half, E to SE winds 10 to
15 kt. Seas 5 to 7 ft.
.THURSDAY...Front over NW waters. N to NW winds 15 to 25 kt
NW of front. Elsewhere N of 18N SE to S winds 5 to 15kt. Elsewhere
S of 18N, E winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 5 to 8 ft. Isolated
thunderstorms far N waters.
.THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY...Front moving through central and SE
waters. Winds up to 15 kt, N to NE behind the front and SE to S
ahead of the front. Seas 10 to 15 ft NW half and 6 to 10 ft SE
half. Isolated thunderstorms NE waters.
.SATURDAY...N winds 10 to 20 kt. Seas 7 to 13 ft.
