Offshore Waters Forecast for Hawaii

Hawaiian offshore waters beyond 40 nautical miles out to 240
nautical miles including the portion of the Papahanaumokuakea
Marine National Monument east of French Frigate Shoals

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height
of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than
twice the significant wave height.

.Synopsis for the Hawaiian offshore waters...
A surface ridge N of the Hawaiian Islands will weaken as a cold
front approaches from the NW. The cold front will enter the NW
offshore waters Wednesday, and dissipate over the central waters
late Thursday. Another cold front may approach the far NW waters
on Saturday.

.TONIGHT...NW Half, SW winds 10 kt or less becoming 10 to 20 kt.
SE Half, E to SE winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 6 to 11 ft. Isolated
thunderstorms far NW half.
.WEDNESDAY...Front over NW waters. NW of front N winds 20 to 30
kt, diminishing to 10 to 20 kt in the afternoon. SE of front, S to
SW winds 5 to 20 kt. Seas 6 to 12 ft. Isolated thunderstorms NW
waters.
.WEDNESDAY NIGHT...Front over central waters. NW winds 10 to 20
kt behind the front. S to SW winds 15 kt or less elsewhere. Seas 7
to 10 ft. Isolated thunderstorms N of 20N.
.THURSDAY...Front dissipating over central waters. NW half, NW to
N winds 15 kt or less. SE half, S to SW winds 10 kt or less. Seas
6 to 9 ft.
.THURSDAY NIGHT...NW half, N to NE winds 10 kt or less. SE half,
variable winds 10 kt or less. Seas 6 to 8 ft.
.FRIDAY...NW half, S winds 10 kt or less. SE half, E to SE winds 10
