.DISCUSSION...
The current, large, long-period northwest (320 degree) swell will
slowly decline through the remainder of today. A High Surf Warning
remains in effect through noon for exposed north and west facing
shores of most islands. Surf is then expected to drop to advisory
levels by this afternoon as the swell energy eases. A series of
northwest to north-northwest (310-330 degree) swells are expected
during the second half of the week, with each pulse becoming slightly
bigger and veering towards the north-northwest direction. Surf will
likely reach advisory thresholds by Thursday out of the northwest,
followed by a larger north-northwest pulse on Friday.
East shore surf will remain small through Thursday due to weak
winds, then become choppier as trade winds increase Friday through
the weekend. Expect tiny to small background swell and surf for south
facing shores through the forecast period.
