900 FXUS64 KHGX 190518 AFDHGX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX 1218 AM CDT Thu Jun 19 2025 ...New KEY MESSAGES, DISCUSSION, MARINE... .KEY MESSAGES... Issued at 1215 AM CDT Thu Jun 19 2025 - Seasonable temperatures and diurnally driven showers/storms for the next several days. - High risk of rip currents along area beaches again Friday, and maybe into the weekend. - Deeper moisture availability early-mid next week may provide some higher rain chances. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 1215 AM CDT Thu Jun 19 2025 Mid level ridging will continue tracking eastward across the Southern Plains and into the Tennessee Valley this weekend, then further into east/northeast US early-mid next week. PW`s are only in the 1.5-1.8" range the next few days, and with a touch of mid level subsidence sprinkled in...think we`ll probably just see some isolated/scattered seabreeze/diurnally driven activity across the region. Once we get on the western periphery of the ridging early- mid next week, it should open the door to a somewhat deeper plume of Gulf moisture to be drawn into the region (and probably some better rain chances/coverage). 47 && .AVIATION... (00Z TAF Issuance) Issued at 600 PM CDT Wed Jun 18 2025 Any isolated shra/tsra this afternoon will dissipate this evening. No mention of rain in the TAFs through tonight. May have some MVFR cigs, especially north of IAH. There are mixed signals for patchy areas of fog in the vicinity of CLL tomorrow morning. Light south winds tomorrow morning increasing somewhat and becoming more southeasterly in the afternoon as the sea breeze pushes inland. A few shra/tsra possible along the sea breeze boundary. For now, going with PROB30s for -TSRA at IAH and CXO during the early afternoon, while areas farther south have -SHRA PROB30s in the late morning and early afternoon. && .MARINE... Issued at 1215 AM CDT Thu Jun 19 2025 Look for south and southeast winds in the 10 to 15 knot range, maybe slightly higher at times in the afternoon (bays) and night (offshore), and 3-5ft seas should generally prevail through the weekend. There will be a moderate-high risk of rip currents along area beaches the next few days. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms remain a daily possibility. 47 && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
