.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1036 PM CST Fri Dec 5 2025

Scattered light rain showers will persist to be possible into
Saturday night, and while an isolated shower may skirt the coastal
areas, the chance for rainfall has largely ended for SE Texas.
Mostly cloudy skies Saturday morning will give way to mostly clear
skies by Saturday night. Mostly clear skies and a light onshore
wind bringing increased moisture will lead to the development of
patchy, but dense, fog across most of the area Saturday night into
Sunday morning. A dry cold front will slide through the area on
Sunday ushering in a chilly north wind and drier conditions.
Rather benign weather pattern will prevail through much of the
upcoming work week as high pressure settles in over the region.

There will be a slight warm up through the weekend with highs on
Saturday rising mid to upper 60s, and then into the low to mid 70s
on Sunday ahead of the cold front. This cold front will usher in a
return of colder air Sunday night with low temperatures returning
to the mid to upper 30s north of I-10, and then low to mid 40s
towards the coast. The chilly weather continues into Monday with
highs in the upper 50s to low 60s, and then lows in the mid to
upper 30s for most of the area Monday night (with even some near
freezing temperatures possible for the Piney Woods). A warm-up
is expected through midweek due to mostly sunny skies and
southerly flow returning with highs rising into the low to mid 60s
on Tuesday, low to mid 70s on Wednesday, and some upper 70s
possible on Thursday.

with sites closer to the coast, including IAH/HOU dropping below
VFR prior to 06Z. Areas of LIFR conditions likely overnight
tonight into tomorrow morning. Most likely timeframe of LIFR
conditions is between 08Z and 14Z. Once the front pushes through,

.MARINE...
Issued at 1036 PM CST Fri Dec 5 2025

Scattered light showers will persist through Saturday night with
light northeasterly winds becoming light southerly winds through
the day. The light onshore winds will lead to a chance of patchy,
but dense, fog developing in the Bays and nearshore waters
Saturday night into Sunday morning.

A cold front is expected to pass through the coastal waters Sunday
afternoon. No rain is expected to accompany the frontal passage,
but it will usher in strong northerly winds Sunday evening into
Monday morning. Northerly winds of 20-25kt with gusts to 30-35kt
will be possible with rough bay waters and seas of 5-9ft.
Conditions will improve through the day on Monday with light to
moderate northeasterly winds expected by the late afternoon
(although elevated seas in the coastal waters may linger into
Monday evening). Light onshore flow is expected to develop by
Tuesday afternoon and continue through much of next week.

Low astronomical tides plus the offshore winds will also lead
lower than normal water-levels in the bays with low tides expected
to be around 0.5ft below MLLW through the first half of next week.
