As with the past several days, this afternoon looks unseasonably hot and dry, with RH falling to a little below 30 percent at their minimum while temperatures rise to around 90 degrees or just a shade below it. Fortunately, in spite of the very dry conditions, winds generally out of the northeast will continue to remain fairly light - less than 10 mph and more along the lines of 5 mph or lighter. Despite this hot and dry stretch dominating recent days, we can expect to see a lift out of that pattern beginning. Winds should turn more southeasterly tonight, and especially by tomorrow morning. The onshore flow will gradually bring more humid conditions to the area, though this far inland, the fire site will be among the last in the area to see its benefits. As a result, we may again see RH dip below 40 percent for one more day tomorrow; a modest improvement, but still quite dry. In the long term, moisture will continue to build into the weekend, and as a weak front approaches the area Saturday, potential for isolated to scattered showers and storms will emerge, followed by the return of much drier air on Sunday. .REST OF TODAY...
