...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT WHARTON...SOUTHWESTERN FORT
BEND...SOUTHWESTERN BRAZORIA AND MATAGORDA COUNTIES THROUGH 1130 AM
CDT...

At 1104 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Sargent, or 11 miles south of Sweeny. This thunderstorm was nearly
stationary.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Matagorda, southwestern Rosenberg, southwestern Lake Jackson, Bay
City, southern Freeport, El Campo, Wharton, West Columbia, Sweeny,
South Texas Nuclear Plant, Brazoria, Needville, Jones Creek, Pleak,
Fairchilds, western Bailey`s Prairie, Beasley, Kendleton, Sargent,
and Pierce.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
