969 FXHW01 KWNH 300823 PMDHI Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD 423 AM EDT Sat Aug 30 2025 Valid 00Z Sun 31 Aug 2025 - 00Z Sun 07 Sep 2025 Trades will remain pretty light over the next few days, as the typical surface high to the north of the state is weakened/displaced by a relatively strong surface low meandering from around 40N to 35N. Meanwhile a dry airmass is in place, with precipitable water (PW) anomalies well below average. Thus any showers should be isolated through Saturday. By early next week there is a general trend toward higher PWs for the state, as a surge of moisture moves westward from the Big Island across Maui and toward Kauai. Meanwhile a weak upper low may hover near/over Kauai. Both of these features may enhance some rain amounts and coverage around Sunday-Monday, but nothing too heavy. Mainly dry conditions are forecast to return around Tuesday and beyond under an upper ridge, though trades may increase slightly to around moderate levels. Tate $$
