A cold front weakening north of Hawaii today will be followed by a
second front approaching the region thereafter, possibly stalling
west of the islands for a period of time. This is in association
with a deep trough and cutoff low west of the state. Guidance
shows much better agreement in this evolution compared to the past
couple of days, showing high likelyhood that heavy rainfall along
the front will remain west of the main islands. Wind speeds
across the entire island chain, but especially the western
islands, look moderate to gusty later in the week and next weekend
with some increased precipitation.
