A front far to the northwest will continue to move towards the islands through Wednesday, pushing the ridge to the north to the east. Meanwhile, a weak surface trough may develop southeast of the Big Island. Easterly trades will ease to light to moderate, and veer east-southeast today. The front will weaken near the far northwest coastal waters Wednesday before lifting north while the trough dissipates. A new high will build behind the front allowing trades to rebound during the second half of the week. $$ Hawaiian waters within 40 nautical miles including the channels- .TODAY...East northeast winds 15 to 20 knots.
