Generalized Statewide Coastal Waters Forecast for Hawaii
National Weather Service Honolulu HI
319 PM HST Sun Oct 12 2025

.Synopsis for Hawaiian coastal waters...
Broad troughing north of Hawaii will be extending south and into
the northern nearshore waters through Monday. Energy from the
north diving down into the base of this trough, along with a
developing upper low, will allow the trough or upper low to
settle in over or just west southwest of the islands by
Wednesday. This will likely destabilize the atmosphere and
increase the chance for mid to late week western water
thunderstorms. Strengthening surface high pressure far northeast
of the area will drive stronger late week trade winds.
