.DISCUSSION...
A weak ridge of high pressure is sliding across our area
bringing warmer temperatures through Sunday. Sunday has a 60 to
65 percent chance of highs of at least 90 in the Valley except
for Merced at 25 percent. A trough slides in Monday bringing
slightly cooler temperatures but also a 5 to 15 percent chance
of thunderstorms over the Sierra Nevada and foothills. However,
precipitation chances will be at 5 to 10 percent for any
accumulation in the Valley for Monday.

Temperatures begin to rebound Wednesday into the rest of the
week as the trough slides out of the area. The ridge that has
been dominating in the South will slowly retrograde west which
will help keep things dry and fuel the warming trend. Moderate
Heat Risk is likely Thursday and Friday. as there is a 20 to 35
percent chance of triple digits on Thursday and 15 to 25 percent
on Friday. The CPC continues to show a 40 to 50 percent chance
of above average temperatures in the 6-10 and 8-14 day outlooks.
