.DISCUSSION...
Abundant rain and high elevation snow arrives this afternoon, and
a 5 to 15 percent chance of thunderstorms exists for this evening
into Tuesday. The bulk of the precipitation occurs from this
evening until late Tuesday afternoon, and a Flood Watch is in
effect for the lower Sierra and foothills, including the recent
burn scars. A Winter Storm Warning has also been issued from this
morning through Wednesday afternoon due to the large snow amounts
expected. Rain and snow tapers off Wednesday, and dry conditions
return Thursday with a warming trend into the weekend. Winds will
become more southerly through the day today and speeds also will
pick up with this storm.
