.DISCUSSION...
Dry conditions prevail today. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect
for the Sierra Nevada from 11 AM Monday through 5 PM Wednesday. In
addition, portions of the San Joaquin Valley and Sierra Nevada
foothills are under a Marginal (5 to 15 percent) Risk of Excessive
Rainfall Monday and Tuesday. A 25 to 75 percent chance of at
least an inch of rain on Tuesday for the San Joaquin Valley. A 20
to 45 percent chance of at least 2 inches of rain on Tuesday for
the Sierra Foothills. Thunderstorm chances are about 5 to 15
percent. Rain and snow tapers off Wednesday. Drier conditions
return Thursday with a warming trend into the weekend. Winds will
shift from the Northwest today to the South tomorrow and Tuesday.
Wind speed also will pick up with this storm.
