.DISCUSSION...
Near average temperatures are expected over the area through Friday
before a warming trend takes hold into the weekend and into Labor
Day. Monsoonal moisture will begin to wane over the next few days,
however there is still a 10 to 15 percent chance for showers and
thunderstorms to develop Thursday afternoon in the Sierra.
Lightning, localized intense rainfall rates, small hail, and gusty
and erratic winds remain threats in and around developed
thunderstorms. Potential for thunderstorms decreases into the
weekend, with at most a 5 percent chance on Friday. Winds will be
in a typical diurnal cycle for the forecast period, upsloping from
the west during the daytime, and downsloping from the east
overnight. Minimum relative humidity is expected to drop for
Thursday around 20 percent before rebounding around 30 percent
into the weekend; overnight recoveries will be around 60 percent.
