.DISCUSSION...
Thunderstorm chances remain present this afternoon, although confined
mainly to the Sierra crest and to the eastern Sierra foothills as a
result of southwesterly flow aloft. Light, upsloping eye-level winds are
expected during the daytime hours, with some stronger winds along the
surrounding ridges; gusts up to 15 mph are possible in the afternoon
after 1400 PDT. Otherwise, a cooling trend will continue into the
weekend, with afternoon temperatures around three to five degrees
below average for this time of year and minimums near-average.
MinRH will have a slight, but gradual decrease over the weekend
to near 30 percent, but will increase into next week above 40
percent. Overnight recoveries for the weekend are expected near
70 percent, but will improve to 90 to near-100 percent into
next week.
