...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT EASTERN KERN COUNTY THROUGH 300
PM PDT...

At 225 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 17
miles south of Weldon, or 34 miles southwest of Ridgecrest. This
thunderstorm was nearly stationary.

HAZARD...Half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of eastern Kern
County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
