...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN MARIPOSA...CENTRAL
MADERA AND NORTHEASTERN MERCED COUNTIES THROUGH 830 AM PDT...

At 800 AM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 13
miles northeast of Chowchilla, or 19 miles east of Merced, moving
northwest at 60 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Yosemite Lakes, Planada, Catheys Valley, and Le Grand.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
