.DISCUSSION...
A strengthening ridge of high pressure aloft will shift
northeastward into the TN Valley later today and remain nearly
stationary through Wednesday. Aside from a few afternoon showers
and thunderstorms across parts of northwest AL today (and in the
higher terrain of northeast AL both today and Wednesday), the
influence of the ridge will maintain dry and warm conditions
through the period. Smoke dispersion indices will be in the
generally good range both today and tomorrow, with mixing heights
of 6500-8500 ft and transport winds of 5-10 MPH.
Fog potential over the next few days: Patchy, early morning fog
will be possible each of the next few days (mainly in rural
portions of the forecast area).
Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
