...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN DEKALB COUNTY THROUGH
530 AM CDT...

At 441 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Crossville, or 10 miles northeast of Boaz, moving east at 60 mph.
Heavy rainfall will also lead to some ponding of water in low lying
areas.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Fort Payne, Rainsville, Crossville, Fyffe, Geraldine, Pine Ridge,
Lakeview, Dog Town, Hopewell, and Collbran.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 AM CDT for northeastern
Alabama.
