At 441 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Crossville, or 10 miles northeast of Boaz, moving east at 60 mph. Heavy rainfall will also lead to some ponding of water in low lying areas. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Fort Payne, Rainsville, Crossville, Fyffe, Geraldine, Pine Ridge, Lakeview, Dog Town, Hopewell, and Collbran. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
