Hot and dry weather prevailed this afternoon across central and
eastern Kansas. Afternoon temperatures were in the low 90s across
northern Kansas to the upper 90s and low 100s over southern
Kansas.

A upper level weather disturbance will slide southeast from
Nebraska into Kansas during the overnight hours. Scattered showers
and storms will accompany this system as it tracks southward
across the central plains. A few of the storms will become strong
or severe with damaging winds and large hail as the primary
hazards. Overnight lows will range from the low 60s in northern
Nebraska to the mid 70s in central Oklahoma.

Surface high pressure will build over the region on Saturday with
the front moving further south into central Oklahoma. Much of the
region will remain dry with showers and storms redeveloping over
southern Oklahoma later in the afternoon. Daytime highs will range
from the mid 80s in eastern Nebraska, to the hot triple digits
over central Oklahoma.
