temperatures reaching the 100s across much of central and southern
Kansas. It wasn`t quite as hot over portions of western and
northern Kansas north of a stationary front, with temperatures
mostly in the 90s. As of the early evening hours, isolated to
scattered thunderstorms formed from central through southwest
Kansas in vicinity of this stalled front.

Hit-or-miss showers and thunderstorms will remain possible through
tonight across mainly the northwest half of Kansas. The strongest
activity will be capable of dime size hail, 60 to 70 mph winds,
and locally heavy rain, especially this evening. Forecast low
temperatures range from the low 80s over southeast Kansas, to 60s
over western Kansas.

A few morning showers and thunderstorms may linger over the Kansas
region Friday, but severe weather is not expected. By late
afternoon and evening, additional hit-or-miss thunderstorms are
possible across mainly central and southern Kansas in vicinity of
the stalled frontal boundary. A few severe thunderstorms are once
again possible. Triple digit heat is expected over mainly the
southeast half of Kansas, with upper 80s and 90s further
