Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Wichita KS
516 PM CDT Sat Jun 14 2025

After morning showers and thunderstorms, much of the
precipitation dissipated or pushed off to the south or east
through the afternoon. Cloud cover and the rain cooled air did
keep temperatures down in some locations in the central and
southeastern portions of the Sunflower State with values in the
upper 70s to lower 80s. Elsewhere the abundance of sunshine and
warmer air resulted in temperatures in the mid 80s to lower 90s.
Winds were primarily light and variable except in the northwest
corner with speeds around 15 mph and gusts near 30 mph this
afternoon.

Another round of showers and thunderstorms is expected this
evening into tonight with chances for much of the Central Plains.
The highest chances are in western Nebraska this evening then the
southeast quadrant of Kansas and eastern Oklahoma tonight. Strong
to severe thunderstorms with quarter sized hail and wind gusts to
70 mph cannot be ruled out especially in Oklahoma. Temperatures
are forecast to drop to the mid 50s in far western Nebraska to
around 70 degrees in eastern Kansas, Oklahoma and western
Missouri. Variable winds at 5 to 10 mph are anticipated other than
any stronger gusts from storms of course.

Lingering showers and thunderstorms are expected in southeast
Kansas into the Ozarks for Sunday. Daytime temperatures are
forecast to range from the lower 80s in the rain cooled areas to
the upper southeast Colorado into the Panhandles. Southeast winds
should have speeds around 5 to 15 mph.
