Showers and thunderstorms were observed early this morning over
portions of the High Plains and the western half of Kansas.
Overnight temperatures across the Central Plains were noted in the
50s and 60s as mostly cloudy skies dominated the scene.

Chances for continued showers and storms will gradually overspread
the Heartland through the morning and afternoon hours from west to
east, providing additional opportunities for scattered rainfall.
Severe weather is not anticipated at this time. Afternoon high
temperatures are forecast in the 70s and low 80s from the Dakotas to
the Red River Valley.

Rain chances will continue into this evening as storm coverage
continues to push eastward. The strongest of these will be capable
of locally heavy rainfall. Low temperatures across the Plains are
forecast in the 50s and 60s.
