A cold front was bisecting central and western Kansas this
afternoon. Behind the front, afternoon temperatures topped out in
the upper 80s and lower 90s while those ahead of the front saw
highs in the upper 90s to around 105.

Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected along
this frontal boundary this evening while gradually spreading
slowly eastward tonight across mainly northern Kansas. Lows
tonight will range from the lower 60s over the high plains of
northwest Kansas to the mid and upper 70s over much of central and

late in the day. Another hot day is anticipated ahead of the front
across much of southern Kansas where highs will climb into the
100-103 degree range. Meanwhile, behind the front highs will range
from the mid and upper 80s across northern Kansas to the lower
