Mostly sunny skies prevailed with breezy southerly winds. A few isolated showers and storms were observed in southeast Kansas with brief heavy rain and minimal impacts. Tonight low temperatures will range from the lower 60s in western Nebraska to the upper 70s in northern Oklahoma. Scattered showers and storms are possible mainly in eastern Colorado and across Nebraska. A few marginally severe storms are possible with this activity with the main hazards being large hail and damaging winds. Outside of storms, mostly clear skies are forecast with breezy southerly winds. Another hot day is in store for Tuesday across the Central Plains. High temperatures will be the coolest in Nebraska and eastern Colorado with highs in the 80s to low 90s with the rest of region seeing readings up to 105 degrees. Storm chances will start to increase late afternoon especially in eastern Nebraska and northern Kansas. Outside of storms, mostly sunny skies are anticipated with breezy winds. $$
