Afternoon highs varied widely across the state with northeast
Kansas only reaching into the 70s with scattered showers for much
of the day. Southwest Kansas topped out in the lower 100s under
mostly sunny skies.

Tonight, overnight lows will generally fall into the 60s and 70s
across the region. Some showers and thunderstorms will develop in
the High Plains and move east across the region through the
overnight hours. More widespread rainfall is expected tonight with
amounts generally reaching between one quarter and one half inch.

For Friday, variable conditions are expected again as showers may
linger across eastern Kansas leading to cooler and cloudier
conditions. Western Kansas will reach into the upper 90s to lower
100s under partly cloudy skies.
