A strong cold front was progressing through the central Plains
with its current position from eastern Colorado through northwest
Kansas and north from there. An impressive temperature gradient
exists along the front with 40s to the northwest and 60s southeast
to the southeast. A stray sprinkle or shower is possible across
central and western Kansas this morning, otherwise dry conditions
will prevail. The front will sink further into Kansas this
afternoon with thunderstorm development expected along the front
from southwest Kansas through north central Kansas. A few storms
may become severe with large hail and damaging winds. Afternoon
temperatures will range from the mid to upper 80s across southern
Kansas to the low 70s across northwest Kansas. Shower and storm
chances will continue tonight across central and northeast Kansas
with temperatures ranging from the 40s across northwest Kansas to
mid 60s across southeast Kansas.
