As Hurricane Erin moves away, long-period swells will likely maintain a high risk for dangerous rip currents north of Cape Fear through at least Friday, with a decreasing risk for beaches south of Cape Fear from Thursday onward as the swell direction becomes easterly to east-northeasterly behind Erin.
