...A BAND OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OFF THE NEW HANOVER AND PENDER
COUNTY COAST...

The areas affected include...
  Coastal waters from Surf City to Cape Fear NC out 20 nm...
  Waters from Surf City to Cape Fear NC from 20 to 40 nm...

At 806 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorms,
capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. Thess thunderstorms
were located from Ten Mile Rocks to 60 miles east of Wrightsville
Beach, moving east at 10 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until this storm passes. If caught on the open water,
prepare for deteriorating conditions. Make sure you and your crew are
wearing properly fitted life jackets.
