...A GUST FRONT OVER THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Coastal waters from Cape Fear NC to Little River Inlet SC out 20
  NM...
  Coastal waters from Surf City to Cape Fear NC out 20 nm...

At 746 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a gust front, capable of
producing winds to around 30 knots. This gust front was located along
a line extending from North Masonboro Island to 10 Mile Boxcars to
near School House Reef, moving southwest at 15 knots. At 736 PM EDT,
a peak gust to 29kts was observed at Wrightsville Beach on Johnnie
Mercers Fishing Pier.

Locations impacted include...
Fort Fisher, Kure Beach, Sheepshead Rock, Buoy Off Carolina Beach,
Lockwood Folly Inlet Sea Buoy, Cape Fear Sea Buoy, Kure Beach Point,
and Carolina Beach.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots and locally
higher waves. Boaters in small craft should consider seeking safe
harbor immediately until this gust front passes. If caught on the
open water, prepare for deteriorating conditions. Make sure you and
your crew are wearing properly fitted life jackets.
