...A GUST FRONT APPROACHING THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Coastal waters from Surf City to Cape Fear NC out 20 nm...

At 749 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a gust front and
thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This
gust front was located along a line extending from Surf City to near
Rich Inlet to 13 nm northwest of Figure Eight Island, moving south
at 20 knots.

Locations impacted include...
10 Mile Boxcars, Liberty Ship, Dallas Rock, Billy Murrell Reef,
Masonboro Sea Buoy, Harris Reef, 10 Mile Rocks, Topsail Boxcars,
Topsail Tire Reef, 5 Mile Boxcars, Johnny Mercer Pier, North
Masonboro Island, and Surf City.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass. If caught on the open water,
prepare for deteriorating conditions. Make sure you and your crew are
wearing properly fitted life jackets.
