The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Coastal waters from Murrells Inlet to South Santee River SC out 20
  nm...

* Until 400 PM EDT.

* At 306 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Yawkey South
  Island, moving southeast at 15 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
           suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  East Bank Buoy, Winyah Bay Sea Buoy, C J Davidson Wreck, Georgetown
  Nearshore Wreck, and Georgetown Reef.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
If caught on the open water, prepare for deteriorating conditions.
Make sure you and your crew are wearing properly fitted life jackets.

Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
