...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTH CENTRAL BLADEN...WEST
CENTRAL BRUNSWICK...CENTRAL COLUMBUS AND NORTH CENTRAL HORRY COUNTIES
THROUGH 600 AM EDT...

At 456 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Cherry Grove, or 14 miles east of Mullins, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts 40 to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Whiteville, Tabor City, Chadbourn, Bethel, Lake Waccamaw, Makatoka,
Freeland, Hallsboro, Nakina, Redbug, Exum, Council, Southeastern
Community College, Williams, Cherry Grove, Old Dock, Mollie, Sidney,
Clarendon, and Crusoe Island.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature`s leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
