...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHERN PENDER COUNTY THROUGH
315 PM EDT...

At 232 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
White Stocking, or 8 miles northeast of Burgaw, moving west at 10
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Burgaw, White Stocking, Murray Town, St. Helena, Watha, and Pender
Memorial Hospital.

This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 391 and 404.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are
close enough to be struck by lightning.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
