The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southern Bladen County in southeastern North Carolina...
  Northeastern Columbus County in southeastern North Carolina...

* Until 445 PM EDT.

* At 407 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from near Lisbon to Elkton to 6 miles southwest of
  Abbottsburg, moving southeast at 15 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect wind damage to trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include...
  Whiteville, Elizabethtown, Bladenboro, Lake Waccamaw, Sandyfield,
  Carvers, Hallsboro, Abbottsburg, Lisbon, Redbug, Lagoon, Elkton,
  Council, Emerson, Southeastern Community College, Kelly, Brunswick,
  Clarkton, White Lake, and Bolton.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Please send your reports of hail or wind damage, including trees or
large limbs downed, by calling the National Weather Service office in
Wilmington at 1 800 697 3901.

If on or near Lake Waccamaw, get away from the water and move
indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to
15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you
are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter
now!  Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
