Effective Tuesday October 29, 2025, river flood categories for the Great Miami River at Piqua and Troy will change. These changes were due to an in depth analysis and creation of flood inundation maps for these locations. The changes in categories were closely coordinated with the Miami Conservancy District, Miami County Emergency Management Agency, and city officials. These changes have no effect at all on FEMA floodplain maps, nor on flood insurance. The new critical levels for Troy are: Action stage remains the same at 9.5 feet.
