.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 155 AM CDT Mon Sep 1 2025

Happy labor day! Sending hopes you enjoy this beautiful day on tap
and get a chance to relax! Today highs in the low 80s and lows in
the mid 50s tonight. Those temperatures continue into Wednesday
before a cold front moves through Wednesday evening.

CAA sets up behind the front keeping highs only in the upper 60s
with lows in the 40s, starting early Thursday morning. The NBM is
showing a 40-60% chance that highs get above 70 degrees Thursday
south of I-74, which is much better of a chance than in previous
days. Friday morning will be quite chilly, with lows forecast to be
in the mid 40s to near 50. There is a 15-30% chance that lows will
be below 45 degrees Friday morning. Beyond that, confidence isn`t
high on how the temperatures will play out at the moment, all
depending on the CAA and any potential additional cold front
passages.

Showers and thunderstorms will move through along the front
Wednesday afternoon/evening as it moves southeast across central IL.
Severe weather is not expected. There is a 60-75% chance of showers
and thunderstorms Wednesday into Thursday, with QPF of 0.1-0.5. The
NBM suggests a 20-30% chance of 0.5" accumulated rain by Thursday
morning.
