Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Southeast Illinois
National Weather Service Lincoln IL
152 PM CDT Mon Oct 6 2025

.DISCUSSION...
A slow moving cold front is approaching central Illinois this
afternoon. Dew points in the 60s and temps in the 80s continue
ahead of the front, with scattered showers and storms possible
mainly this evening and overnight north of I-72. Further south,
additional rain is possible south of I-70 associated with an upper
level disturbance. Precip chances will linger into Tuesday
morning but diminish from the northwest through the day as a more
seasonable air mass overspreads central Illinois. Dry weather is
favored through the latter half of the week with afternoon RH
values dipping below 35 percent each afternoon Wednesday through
Friday.
