.DISCUSSION...
Southeast winds will back to a northeasterly direction this
afternoon as a surface low pressure system passes through southern
IL. Scattered showers and storms will shift east this morning,
though some redevelopment near I-55 is forecast (30-50% chance)
this afternoon beneath the upper level trough. Most locations
will receive a tenth to quarter inch of additional rainfall,
though some pockets of amounts greater than 1 inch may occur
beneath the heaviest thunderstorms, which will also be capable of
generating small hail. Rain chances will diminish this evening,
though there may be some sprinkles or drizzle through the night.
With widespread clouds sticking around through tomorrow,
shallow mixing will result in poor ventilation.
