.DISCUSSION...
A series of weather systems will continue to bring periods of
showers and a few thunderstorms to central and southeast IL through
Tuesday. Most widespread rains will occur from this afternoon through
Tuesday morning. Additional rainfall amounts of a half to 1 inch will be
likely east of the IL river through Tuesday, with less than a half inch
west of the IL river. Areas from I-72 south could locally see 1 to 1.5 inches
of additional rainfall by sunset Tuesday. Drier weather should return to
the area Tuesday night and Wednesday. Poor ventilation rates are expected
today through Tuesday with low mixing heights and modest transport winds.
Northeast winds will occur today through tonight, and turn west to
northwest on Tuesday.
